Hi, I'm Katy, I am a labor education specialist at the Office and Professional Employees International Union (OPEIU) and a research affiliate at the Columbia Labor Lab. I received my Ph.D. in sociology at Columbia University. 

I use quantitative and qualitative methods to study gig-ification, technological adoption at work, and mobilization. I have been a fellow at the Columbia Center for Political Economy, an Incite Institute doctoral dissertation fellow, and am part of the Worker Empowerment Research Network. I also write about political education, occupational segregation, and AI. 

I also design curricula and teach undergraduates and adult union members about technology and AI, labor organizing, political economy, and research methods (among other things).
